'Jeopardy!' champ Jamie Ding of NJ moves into Top 5 with 23rd victory
New Jersey's "Jeopardy!" champ Jamie Ding is now among the Top 5 all-time on the long-running game show.
The Lawrenceville resident won his 23rd straight game on Tuesday, April 14 to move into a tie for fifth place on the all-time consecutive wins list with Mattea Roach, who won 23 games back in 2022.
Ding won $16,400 on Tuesday to increase his 23-game money total to $644,000. He remains in sixth place on the regular-season money list behind fellow New Jerseyan Cris Pannullo, an Ocean City native who won $748,286 while winning 21 games in 2022, according to Jeopardy.com. (See lists below)

Metro Detroit native Jamie Ding continues to make his way up the "Jeopardy!" all-time leaderboard, notching his 23rd consecutive victory in Tuesday's episode.
The win moves him into a tie for the fifth most in the history of the long-running TV game show.
He finished ahead of Iain Carpenter, a health care IT specialist from Mahomet, Illinois, who ended the episode with $1 after a big wager in the Final Jeopardy! round didn't pan out. Stephanie Rice-Hoffner, a former car wash tech manager from New York City, had a negative score at the end of Double Jeopardy! and thus was ineligible to participate in the final round.

LANSING, Mich. (WILX) – A Metro Detroit native continued his historic run on Jeopardy! on Monday night after beating a pair of fellow Michiganders.
Jamie Ding, a 2009 graduate of Grosse Pointe North High School, once again won in runaway fashion.
Ding has now won 22 straight games, one game shy of tying the record for the fifth-longest streak in the history of the longstanding game show. You can watch him go for a 23rd straight win Tuesday night at 7:30 p.m. on WILX.
As Ding extended his streak to 22 straight wins on Monday’s episode, both contestants joining him on the Alex Trebek Stage also hail from the Mitten State — Erik Bubolz of Okemos and Catherine Hoffman of Clarkston.
