First Alert Weather Days Monday & Tuesday evenings due to strong to severe storms
WAUSAU, Wis. (WSAW) – An unsettled weather pattern arrives this week with rounds of rain and storms, mixed with dry stretches that could include some sunshine. Temperatures will be running above average through late week.
Showers and storms will end Monday night into Tuesday morning from northwest to the southeast. Heavy rain, and small hail would be the largest threats for severe weather.
The rainfall itself could be high enough to cause flooding in some communities. Places that will be most susceptible to flooding Monday night into Tuesday are those along rivers that are already running high from how wet we have been through the first quarter plus of 2026.
Tornadoes, large hail, heavy rain hit southern Minnesota
Southern Minnesota was hit hard by the first severe weather of the season Monday afternoon and evening, with at least two tornadoes, large hail and heavy rain. FOX 9's Soyoung Kim has more.

Confirmed tornado in Blue Earth County, severe storms across the state
A Forecast First ALERT for Monday has ended following severe storms across the southern parts of the state.
At 6:25 p.m., the National Weather Service confirmed a tornado heading east had touched down in southwestern Blue Earth County, adding that strong winds from the storm were lifting a lot of dust.
More than 10 counties in southern Minnesota have been under an extreme tornado watch since around 3 p.m.
The tornado watch is expected to be in effect until 10 p.m.
Thunderstorms are expected to wind down over Monday night, leaving us with mostly cloudy skies and cooler temps in the low 50s.
