A 1-year-old boy died on the morning of Thursday, April 9, 2026, after he was struck by a pickup truck on private property at a residence in DeFuniak Springs, Florida. The Florida Highway Patrol confirmed the fatal incident occurred at approximately 10:28 a.m. along Pleasant Ridge Road in Walton County.
According to state troopers, a 44-year-old man was operating a black Ford F-250 when the toddler walked directly into the vehicle's path.
