Taylor Bol Bowen, a former Kentucky target, is going portaling again
One year ago, Kentucky recruited Florida State transfer Taylor Bol Bowen, but the 6’10” forward took his talents to Alabama instead. Bol Bowen will enter the portal again, per Joe Tipton. Could Kentucky run the recruitment back and take another player from the Crimson Tide?
Bol Bowen dealt with injuries throughout his year in Tuscaloosa. He played in 30 games, starting 11, averaging 6.3 points and 4.2 rebounds per game. His shooting percentages dropped from his second season at Florida State, but he still made an average of one three-pointer per game on 3.2 attempts and averaged 1.0 blocks.
Bol Bowen missed both of Alabama’s games vs. Kentucky due to injury. He finally got healthy in time for the NCAA Tournament, scoring a season-high 15 points, which included three three-pointers, in Alabama’s first-round win over Hofstra.
Alabama starting forward to enter transfer portal
Alabama Crimson Tide starting forward Aiden Sherell is entering the transfer portal, according to On3's Hayes Fawcett.
Sherell had a promising sophomore season for the Crimson Tide, averaging 11.1 points, 6.2 rebounds, and 2.2 blocks per game. He started all 34 games that he played in, shooting 53.9% from the floor, 33.8% from the 3-point line, and 71.3% from the free-throw line.
He recorded three double-doubles for Alabama, including a 15-point, 15-rebound performance against Hofstra in the first round of the NCAA Tournament. He scored 20 or more points four times, including a career-high 26 points against Arkansas. He led Alabama in blocks and rebounds this season.
It was a massive step from his freshman campaign, when the Detroit, Michigan native averaged 3.4 points and 2.8 rebounds in 36 games. He will have two seasons of eligibility at his next stop.
