Feel-good Warriors story has now become an afterthought by season's end
The Golden State Warriors are limping towards the end of what has been a very trying season. Arguably one of the best stories from the season has been the emergence of point guard Pat Spencer, but by the end of the campaign he's become somewhat of an afterthought.
There was a time this season when Spencer was the most exciting story on this Warriors team. He was having big games and making big shots, pounding his chest and shouting obscenities in the middle of the court in Philadelphia.
What made it all the more remarkable was how unlikely it was. Spencer was an unheralded two-way player prior to this season who many fans probably thought would be let go at some point.
Warriors have another impossible Pat Spencer choice to make in just a few short weeks
The Golden State Warriors must start looking ahead towards the offseason. With Stephen Curry possibly sidelined through the Play-In Tournament and the urgency on fielding a championship-caliber roster reaching a boiling point, it's the painful reality of where this season has left them.
In Curry and Jimmy Butler's absences, the Warriors have thankfully gotten a better look at some of their rotational talent. A number of players have gotten opportunities they may never have gotten otherwise. Gui Santos, for example, has taken massive offensive strides over the past couple of months. The team inked him to a three-year, $15 extension as a result.

How to live stream Spurs vs Warriors: NBA, TV channel, start time
The San Antonio Spurs (57-18) travel to Chase Center to face the Golden State Warriors (36-39) on Wednesday night in NBA action.
The Spurs continue to make their case as one of the favorites to be the Western Conference representative in the NBA Finals, posting a blistering 25-2 record over their last 27 games. They’ve won nine in a row, with each of the last five being by 15 points or more. Victor Wembanyama sits as one of the MVP favorites, with yet another ridiculous stat line in the Spurs’ most recent win over the Chicago Bulls, scoring 41 points with 16 rebounds, four assists, one steal, and three blocks.
