Zero Disengagements: Watch Tesla FSD 14 Drive a 93-Year-Old Through Sunday Traffic

On a beautiful February day in San Diego County, a 93-year-old grandmother proved that age is just a number when you have the right technology behind the wheel. In a heartwarming video shared by Dan Doyle’s Family Channel, the centenarian-to-be took her brand-new Tesla Model Y equipped with Full Self-Driving (FSD) for a spin, demonstrating a level of independence that many assume fades with time.

The journey began with a 13-mile trek to Mission Valley Christian Fellowship. The drive was remarkably calm, with the son joking with Grok that they should only slow down if the worship music wasn’t good. Dan’s mom laughed and replied about Grok, “I love that lady”. Lol.

At the Bangkok International Motor Show 2026, we spent some time with the Tesla Model Y L, the Chinese-made three-row version of the Model Y that adds more space and a more family-focused cabin layout, and has been performing well in the local market since its August 2025 launch.

Musk has not ruled out the Model Y L for the U.S., but we have not seen any local test prototypes, regulatory filings, or other signs that would point to an imminent launch.

Tesla Ships First Model Y L Units to GigaTexas, Drone Footage Shows

New drone images shared by Joe Tegtmeyer on X on Monday show what appears to be a Tesla Model Y L vehicle body shipped from GigaShanghai to the GigaTexas plant in Austin.

Tegtmeyer — a Tesla enthusiast who regularly posts drone footage of GigaTexas on X — shared a vehicle wrapped in protective packaging inside a wooden crate.

The vehicle appears to be the six-seat Model Y L, a three row version of the SUV which launched in China last year and has since expanded to several markets across Asia.

The shipment of bodies to Texas could signal a shift in Tesla‘s plans, though the company has not commented on whether a US launch is forthcoming.
