Dust advisory issued for Clark County as strong winds move in
LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — Clark County’s Division of Air Quality has issued a dust advisory for Tuesday, March 31, from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m., as strong winds are expected across the area.
Officials forecast sustained winds near 25 mph, with gusts of 40 mph or higher. Residents and construction sites are urged to take precautions to reduce blowing dust.
Airborne dust is a type of particulate matter (PM) pollution that can worsen breathing problems. Health officials say people with heart or lung disease, older adults, and children may feel better staying indoors during dusty, windy conditions, especially if they are physically active. Anyone sensitive to air pollution are advised to consult a physician.

There’s a 40 percent chance of “pretty light showers” for Southern Nevada today, said Ashley Nickerson of the National Weather Service. Most of the rain won’t arrive until after 10 p.m., she said, lasting until 4 a.m.
She said some areas will be fortunate to “squeak out” enough rain to maybe create a few puddles and that’s it.
Tuesday’s forecast high is 77 as a storm system arrives from the north. The average high for the valley in late March is in the mid 70s.
