LSU basketball gets back with its ex. It’s as messy as it sounds
As of 11:30 Thursday morning, LSU technically had two basketball coaches – the one administrators hadn’t gotten around to technically firing and the one they fired four years ago after he refused to cooperate during an NCAA investigation. But the school wanted to rehire the former coach so badly that they couldn’t even fire the first guy before making him an offer.
College basketball is in a new era. This year’s Sweet 16 shows the coaching old guard is still thriving

Who will replace Will Wade? Some candidates the Wolfpack may consider
The shockwaves from Will Wade's exit from NC State reverberated across the college basketball world on Thursday. Wade's transition puts the Wolfpack in an unusual predicament by having to hire coaches two years in a row.

As of Thursday, 4-star wing Cole Cloer, a Hillsborough native, and 4-star center Trevon Carter-Givens are committed to play for State next season. The transfer portal opens on April 7.

So Why Would Corrigan Hire One Now? And Let’s Not Kid Around, if He Did It Would Be Justin Gainey.
He got a lot of appreciation for the Will Wade hire, and until a few days ago thought the program was in good hands for the near future. And then he got dumped on. His life is not good right now.
The buzz being posted on the fan sites is that Josh Schertz is the top choice – and there are other names being bandied about, but Gainey is said to be a candidate. And Boo did say in the presser that the candidate did not have to be a head coach.
