Reds Broadcaster Has Strong Reaction to What Sal Stewart Is Doing at the Plate

Cincinnati Reds rookie infielder has not only impressed fans, but he's also impressed his teammates, the coaching staff, and even the broadcast crew.

Appearing on the Power Stacks Podcast, Reds announcer Jeff Brantley, known as The Cowboy, had high praise for Stewart and said it in only a way he could.

"I'll say this with Sal," Brantley said. "He would really piss me off if I was a pitcher. I'll be honest with you. He would. He would really make me mad. And that is the best compliment that I could give that kid because he fights for it, he wants it, his energy is so high."

Sal Stewart, alliteration — and a Cincinnati Reds perfect fit

It's hard to have an alliterative name that isn't perfect for baseball.

Alliteration, when words begin with the same letter or sound, somehow fits America's Pastime just right. Sal Stewart is just the latest example.

Stewart, the slugging corner infielder for the Cincinnati Reds, arrived in MLB at the end of last season and hit five home runs in a limited sample.

He's known for his prodigious power, so that wasn't a surprise, but he's also just as memorable because of his name.

The Reds obviously won't just play Stewart because of his name. They need what he brings.

Last season's Cincinnati ballclub did a lot of things right, enough to sneak into the playoffs. But they didn't hit for power.
