Longtime Colts receiver T.Y. Hilton retires from NFL
T.Y. Hilton, a four-time Pro Bowl wide receiver in his 10 seasons with the Indianapolis Colts, officially announced his retirement Wednesday.
"After an incredible journey, it's time for me to retire from the game of football and begin a new chapter," Hilton posted to X. "Thank you to Mr. Irsay, his family and the entire Colts organization for believing in a kid from Miami and giving me the opportunity to live out my dream wearing the horseshoe."
Hilton led the NFL in receiving with 1,448 yards in 2016. Overall, he caught 638 passes for 9,812 yards — an average of 15.4 yards per reception — while hauling in 53 touchdowns and scoring another on a punt return. He last played for the Dallas Cowboys during the 2022 season, catching seven passes in three games.

Hilton announced the news in a post on his social media account on Wednesday.
He was originally a third-round pick by the Colts in the 2012 NFL Draft out of Florida International.
Hilton went on to make four Pro Bowls with the Colts.
In all, he played 10 years for the Colts and had 631 catches for 9,691 yards and 53 touchdowns.

Wide receiver T.Y. Hilton officially announced his retirement from professional football on Wednesday. Hilton last played for the Dallas Cowboys in 2022 after 10 seasons with the Indianapolis Colts. The 36-year-old only appeared in three games for the Cowboys and caught seven of his 10 targets for 121 yards and no touchdowns. In his prime, though, Hilton was one of the best receivers in the game, making four straight Pro Bowls from 2014 to 2017 and having four straight 1,000-yard receiving seasons from 2013 to 2016 with Indy. The former third-round pick in 2012 out of Florida International had five 1,000-yard seasons in his 11-year career and finished his successful stint in the NFL with a total of 638 receptions for 9,812 yards and 53 touchdowns on 1,086 targets. Hilton led the league in 2016 with 1,448 yards while also catching 91 passes and finding the end zone six times.
