WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Schools is creating an audit advisory committee made up of community members with financial expertise to help review the district’s audits and strengthen oversight of its finances.

District officials share that the committee will include seven members from the community who have financial backgrounds. A spokesperson said more than 50 people applied for the positions available through the district.

At this point, four members have already been selected. The remaining three will be appointed by the Forsyth County Board of Commissioners in the coming weeks.
