All of Central Georgia is under a risk of severe weather, which includes the risk of spin up tornadoes and severe thunderstorm warnings, according to the National Weather Service.

4:15 a.m.: Monroe County is activating an emergency shelter for Monroe County residents seeking shelter for potential severe weather. The shelter will be at the High Falls Station 2 at 42 Towaliga River Drive, which will be open until 10 a.m. today. Pets will only be accepted in crates.

Schools to delay start by 2 hours due to severe weather Monday
Several school systems in our area have planned to delay the school day by two hours Monday due to the overnight and early morning severe weather.
In Tennessee, the following school systems will be delayed by two hours:
Hamilton County Schools are currently on spring break, but their spring break child care sites will open on a delay.
