Power outages, road closures, structure damage reported as winter storm moves into region
BILLINGS – Power outages are being reported across Billings on Thursday as a winter storm moves into the region.
Billings Public Schools reports Medicine Crow Middle School and Bitterroot Elementary School have lost power.
School officials said on social media that parents who have students at these schools may pick up their children. For student safety, a physical ID will be required for pickup.
If you are unable to pick up your child early, students will remain at school and can be picked up at the regular dismissal time, the post states.

Semis and campers tipped over by high winds in central Montana
An intense windstorm is hitting Montana on Thursday. Wind gusts have now topped 79 miles per hour in Great Falls, which is stronger than the peak wind gusts during the windstorms on December 17th and March 8th.
A Park County Sheriff's deputy narrowly escaped serious injuries when a semi truck was blown over on top of the deputy's patrol vehicle. It happened near mile marker 350 along I-90 westbound.
The deputy, along with Park County Rural Fire personnel, was responding to a tipped semi in the vicinity.
While they were at the scene, a different semi was blown over by the powerful winds, landing on top of the patrol vehicle.
