Eagles updates on the hunt for a pass rusher
The Philadelphia Eagles need a new edge defender after losing Jaelan Phillips, who they reportedly had interest in re-signing before he left to join the Carolina Panthers.
The team reportedly made an offer to Trey Hendrickson before he joined the Baltimore Ravens earlier on Wednesday. They’re also rumored to be in the mix for Maxx Crosby but that’s no sure thing.

Chubb seemed to make a lot of sense for the Eagles since he previously played for Vic Fangio in both Denver and Miami. Signing him also wouldn’t have impacted Philly’s compensatory pick formula since he was released by the Dolphins.
With Trey Hendrickson now off the board, teams who were pursuing him now plan to pivot towards a trade for Jonathan Greenard. The Colts, Cowboys, Eagles, and Seahawks figure to be in the mix with the price being a 2026 Day 2 pick.

NFL Free Agency Rumors: Eagles called Vikings about Jonathan Greenard
The Philadelphia Eagles are in the market for an edge rusher, especially now that Jaelan Phillips is headed to Carolina. The team had reportedly reached out to both Trey Hendrickson and to the Vikings about Jonathan Greenard.
Hendrickson agreed to a deal with the Ravens for four years and $112 million, which can go up to $120 million with incentives. The former Bengals defender is now off the board, which leaves Greenard for the Eagles.
Greenard is two years into a four-year, $76 million contract with the Vikings, and has a $19 million salary for 2026. He earned the first Pro Bowl of his career in 2024, and has recorded 97 total tackles, 34 QB hits, and 15 sacks in his two seasons in Minnesota.
