Kurt Cobain’s Death ‘A Homicide,’ Claims Independent Researcher

Smells like foul play. That’s what one independent researcher believes may have been Kurt Cobain’s true cause of death. The lead singer of the grunge band Nirvana has been dead for over 30 years, with suicide being the determined cause.

An electrician found the Smells Like Teen Spirit singer dead in his home in 1994. They found a suicide note at his home. A self-inflicted gunshot wound has long been the belief of how he died.

Brian Burnett, however, has a different theory. “This is a homicide,” according to him. Brian is a forensic specialist, seeing plenty of cases involving overdoses and gunshot trauma in his career.

Kurt Cobain's death 'was a homicide': report

His death shocked fans and sent ripples through the music world, but decades later, Kurt Cobain's final moments are under renewed scrutiny.

The Nirvana lead singer died on April 5, 1994, at age 27, from a self-inflicted shotgun wound at his Seattle home.

At the time, the King County Medical Examiner ruled his death a suicide by a Remington Model 11 20-gauge shotgun.

Now, an unofficial private sector team of forensic scientists has put fresh eyes on Cobain's autopsy and crime scene materials, bringing in Brian Burnett, a specialist who previously worked on cases involving overdoses followed by gunshot trauma.

Independent researcher Michelle Wilkins, who worked with the team, told Daily Mail that after just three days looking into the evidence with fresh eyes, Burnett said: 'This is a homicide. We've got to do something about this.'

A group of forensic scientists have questioned the ruling on Kurt Cobain’s death, claiming the singer died from a “homicide”.

The legendary lead singer of grunge band Nirvana died aged 27 on April 5, 1994, at age 27, from a self-inflicted shotgun wound at his Seattle home. King County Medical Examiner ruled the star’s death as a suicide by a Remington Model 11 20-gauge shotgun.

Specialists Brian Burnett and Michelle Wilkins are among a team of scientists who are seeking to put fresh eyes on the case, which has been the subject of many wild conspiracies. Wilkins told the Daily Mail that after just three days of working on the case Burnett said: “This is a homicide. We've got to do something about this.”
