Two-time champ Damian Lillard headlines NBA's 3-point contest
Damian Lillard is apparently going to wear his Portland uniform again, in a most unexpected manner.
Lillard — who has not played this season while recovering from a torn Achilles tendon — will participate in the 3-point contest on All-Star Saturday, the NBA announced.
Lillard is joining 2018 3-point contest champion Devin Booker of the Phoenix Suns in the field, along with Charlotte's Kon Knueppel, Philadelphia's Tyrese Maxey, Cleveland's Donovan Mitchell, Denver's Jamal Murray, Milwaukee's Bobby Portis Jr. and Miami's Norman Powell.
If Lillard wins, he would join Larry Bird and Craig Hodges as the only three-time winners of the event, which will be held at the LA Clippers' home in Inglewood, California.
Devin Booker to participate in NBA All-Star 3-Point Contest for 5th time
Devin Booker will participate in the State Farm 3-Point Contest as part of this year’s NBA All-Star festivities.
The 3-Point Contest will take place at the Intuit Dome in Los Angeles on Saturday at 3 p.m. MST. It can be seen on NBC and streamed on Peacock.
The Phoenix Suns star has previously competed in the 3-Point Contest four times, winning the contest in 2018 and setting a then-NBA record score of 28 points. He last participated in 2020, finishing as a runner-up behind winner Buddy Hield. Booker was scheduled to participate in the 3-Point Contest in 2021 but missed the contest and All-Star game due to a knee injury.

Maxey named as participant for 2026 3-point Contest
Weathering the storm, Tyrese Maxey hits an unreal stepback three over Suns defender
Ahead of his first All-Star start Sunday night, Maxey is set to participate in the 3-point Contest. In addition to Maxey, the NBA announced the following field of players:
The 3-point Contest is first on the schedule for All-Star Saturday night next weekend at 5 p.m. ET at Intuit Dome. Rookie VJ Edgecombe will play in the Rising Stars Challenge on Friday.
Through 50 games, Maxey’s been a high-volume, high-caliber outside shooter. He’s attempted 8.8 three-pointers per game and made 38.8 percent. The 25-year-old is quickly closing in on Allen Iverson for the most made threes in Sixers history. With 865, he's 20 away from tying the Sixers legend.
