Falcom announces Kyoto Xanadu for Nintendo Switch 2, Switch
Today, Falcom unveiled Kyoto Xanadu for both Nintendo Switch 2 and Switch. It’s planned for this summer.
Kyoto Xanadu Is Nihon Falcom’s New Xanadu Game
During the February 5, 2026 Nintendo Direct Partner Showcase, Nihon Falcom announced a new Xanadu game called Kyoto Xanadu. It will release in Summer 2026. It will be both a Switch and Switch 2 game.
Upon joining Hirasaka Academy, Rei finds himself being trained and prepped to head into the Great Labyrinth: Xanadu and conquer it. It will be a 2D side-scrolling platformer with Castlevania style labyrinths at some parts, but also more traditional, 3D spaces for the larger boss fights.

Kyoto Xanadu Announced As Next Entry In Falcom's Xanadu Series
