Elon Musk's X down for tens of thousands of users
Elon Musk's social media network X is down for tens of thousands of users, according to outage tracking website Downdetector.com
Users in multiple countries are reportedly affected, including the US, Canada, Australia and the UK
In the UK, Downdetector saw a spike of around 20,000 reports suggesting the platform had gone down shortly after 15:00 GMT
X appears to be back up and running for many, but the platform's timelines flicker between resuming and failing to load fully
It's not yet clear what caused the outage, but we've reached out to X for comment

X outages reported by thousands of users primarily in US
X was back up and running after about an hour after users began reporting connectivity issues. The site was also down briefly earlier this week.
Elon Musk's social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter, was reportedly down for tens of thousands of users worldwide for around one hour on Friday, according to a site that tracks online outages.
Over 41,000 issues were reported with the controversial microblogging site in the United States alone, with another 8,000 in the United Kingdom and 2,400 in India, according to DownDetector.
Given that reports have to be actively submitted by users, the true figure was likely to be much higher.

By Friday afternoon, service appears to have restored for many users.
Those affected reported that the site and its app did not load at all, with visitors instead saw a blank screen. Some users also saw Cloudflare error pages – though the issue was at X itself, and the problem did not seem to be a repeat of recent Cloudflare technical issues that did take X offline.
