Court documents reveal details of Lincoln federal arrest that drew protesters
LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) – An arrest affidavit shared new details into a federal law enforcement operation that drew a large crowd in Lincoln Tuesday evening.
Court documents filed Tuesday show federal officers were attempting to serve an administrative arrest warrant for 25-year-old Juan Tlatenchi-Mireles, of Mexico, at 12:45 p.m.
Tlatenchi-Mireles was previously arrested and lodged in the Lancaster County Jail on suspicion of third-degree domestic assault on Oct. 3, 2025, but he posted bond and was released before Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) could assume custody.
An affidavit detailing that case alleges Tlatenchi-Mireles got into an alcohol-fueled argument with a friend and directed his anger toward his partner on July 20, 2025. Police wrote that Tlatenchi-Mireles allegedly punched the woman in the face three times while children were in the home.
