Hockey India has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Government of Telangana to host the Women’s 2026 FIH Hockey World Cup Qualifiers in Hyderabad from March 8 to 14 this year.

The event highlights India’s growing role in international hockey and Telangana’s rise as a major sports-hosting state. Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has said that the event reflects the state’s commitment to sports, women’s empowerment, and making Hyderabad a global sporting destination.

The tournament will feature eight teams, including India, England, Scotland, Korea, Italy, Uruguay, Wales, and Austria. The top three teams will qualify directly for the FIH Hockey World Cup Belgium & Netherlands 2026, scheduled from August 15 to 30.
