Aaron Rodgers, Baker Mayfield among players chasing millions in bonuses

Aaron Rodgers could make more than his base salary in bonuses this season if he takes the Pittsburgh Steelers on a deep playoff run.
Rodgers is one of several NFL stars, including a few big-name quarterbacks, who could rake in millions more in bonuses if they hit key performance or statistical markers the rest of this season.
If the Steelers make the playoffs, Rodgers would make an extra $500,000. A Pittsburgh wild-card win would earn him another $600,000. A divisional round win? Rodgers gets another $750,000.
The money only grows as the stakes get higher. If the Steelers win the AFC championship, Rodgers will pull in an extra $1 million. A Super Bowl victory, which would be Rodgers' second, would earn him $1.5 million.

It’s that time of the year, late in the NFL season, when everything is on the line — well, at least for some people.
While nearly half the league has already been eliminated from the playoffs, there are still playoff seeds and home-field advantage to decide and, perhaps most importantly to some, contract performance bonuses to meet.
Many players have certain elevators for cumulative season stats — some close to million-dollar bonuses — headed into the second-to-last weekend of the regular season.

Sam Darnold has $1 million opportunity staring him in the face in Week 17
Sam Darnold is relatively underpaid based on his performance for the Seattle Seahawks this offseason compared to other quarterbacks of his ilk in the NFL. His guaranteed salary was just $5.5 million, and his cap hit was $13.4 million. But don't feel too bad for the QB.
He can make a lot of money by reaching incentives, and he has a chance to reach two of them in Week 17 against the Carolina Panthers. Mind you, he would have to have a very good game, but not an impossible one.
Among Darnold's 2025 incentives are having at least 28 passing touchdowns and at least 4,000 passing yards. Each pays $500,000 if Darnold reaches those numbers. To get there against Carolina, Darnold would need to toss four TD passes and 297 yards. That latter number could certainly be doable, though the quarterback has only thrown for that much twice this year.
