Kai Havertz could feature for Arsenal in a “matter of days” after recovering from injury, Mikel Arteta has said.

The 26-year-old has been absent since August after suffering a knee injury that required surgery. There had been some hope that he could return sooner, but Germany head coach Julian Naglesmann confirmed last month that he had suffered “a small relapse” on his road to recovery.

Havertz made his return to full training with the Arsenal squad ahead of their Carabao Cup quarter-final clash with Crystal Palace and Arteta said post-match that the forward was not far off being in contention for the game.
