'They have their number': Gliddon backs Breakers

Friday's Boxing Day blockbuster at MyState Bank Arena pits two teams in very different form up against one another.

Hosts Tasmania have won four of their past six games, including Tuesday's Open Air Game victory over Melbourne United.

The Breakers, meanwhile, head into this Round 14 fixture on a three-game losing streak, including dropping both games last round against Cairns and Brisbane.

Despite this, NBL veteran Cam Gliddon backs the Breakers' chances, believing they 'have the JackJumpers number'.

"[This is] the Jackies team of old, being stingy on defence and very unselfish on offence, which [is a proven recipe] to get it done," Gliddon said via Friday's episode of NBL Now.

NBL Betting Tips – NBL Round 14: Part I 2025 Predictions

Round 14 is spread out, with a game every day until New Years Eve. I will split my bets across two segments, so stay tuned for Round 14 Part II.

The former Washington Wizard looks to have found his spot within this stacked 36ers lineup.

He came off the bench last game and only played 14 minutes total; he should regain his starting spot here against Cairns. Averaging 4.8RPG, it’s a healthy advantage we have here to the 3.5 line. In the above-mentioned half game, he only managed 2 boards, but the 7 games before that he hasn’t gone below 4.

Cairns have looked better since Waardenburg has returned but its still took a McVeigh masterclass to overcome New Zealand. The 36ers are a different beast and this could get ugly.

NBL26 Round 14 Predictions & Tips

The busy NBL26 season continues over the Christmas period with Round 14. It officially gets underway on Christmas Eve with a game between the 36ers and the Taipans, before the Christmas night matchup between the Kings and the Hawks. We also have Boxing Day action with the JackJumpers and the Breakers locking horns, as well as plenty of other juicy matchups. We bring you our best bets for all NBL Round 14 games here!

The NBL26 Boxing Day clash in Hobart shapes as a crucial matchup for two sides heading in different directions. The Tasmania JackJumpers come into this one with growing confidence, sitting at 9–11 after a strong win against Melbourne United last time out. That result continued an impressive stretch of form, with Tasmania now winning three of their past four games. The JackJumpers’ defensive pressure and ability to control tempo have been central to that improvement, particularly at home where their physicality and crowd energy often lift their intensity. With finals still within reach, this game looms as a must-win opportunity against a direct rival lower on the ladder.
