Broncos announce inactives for Week 16 game vs. Jaguars
DENVER — Guard Ben Powers is officially active for Sunday's game against the Jaguars after being activated from injured reserve ahead of Week 16.
Powers was not among the Broncos' seven inactive players, which were announced 90 minutes before kickoff.
The veteran guard last played in Week 5 against the Eagles before suffering a biceps injury.
Wide receiver Pat Bryant is also active after he missed Denver's Week 15 win over the Packers.
Inside linebacker Justin Strnad is the lone player among the Broncos' inactives who was ruled out due to injury.
After being listed as questionable on the Broncos' final injury report of the week, tackle Mike McGlinchey is active for Sunday's game against the Packers.
Broncos made 4 roster moves on Saturday
The Denver Broncos made several roster moves ahead of Sunday's game against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
First, the team activated guard Ben Powers (biceps) from injured reserve to the 53-man roster, marking his return after being sidelined for more than two months. Denver had room for Powers after waiving backup lineman Calvin Throckmorton on Thursday. Throckmorton cleared waivers on Friday and re-signed with the team's practice squad on Saturday, a second move.
The team did not place linebacker Justin Strnad (foot) on injured reserve, a sign that there's hope he could return in fewer than four weeks. The Broncos currently only have three healthy inside linebackers on the 53-man roster (Dre Greenlaw, Alex Singleton, Jordan Turner) after Karene Reid (hamstring) was downgraded to out on Saturday.
