Man jailed after violent incident in Seneca Falls
Police arrested a Seneca Falls man after a late-reported domestic disturbance led to an investigation.
Joshua C. Vanderwall, 36, of Seneca Falls, was arrested December 19 by the Town of Seneca Falls Police Department. Officers said the report came in days after the incident occurred.
Police said their investigation found Vanderwall got into a physical altercation with the victim about a week earlier. During that incident, police said Vanderwall struck the victim in the face.
A child was present during the altercation and witnessed it, according to police. Officers also said a refrain-from order of protection was in effect between Vanderwall and the victim at the time.
Seneca Falls Man Arrested on Drug Possession Charges
The Town of Seneca Falls Police Department arrested 53-year-old Robert C. Nageldinger of Seneca Falls on Tuesday on drug possession charges.
The arrest relates to an incident that occurred on April 2, 2025. Police say that while Nageldinger was being taken into custody for an unrelated matter, he was found in possession of Suboxone strips without a valid prescription.
Nageldinger was charged with one count of criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree. He was already being held at the Seneca County Jail, where he was served with the new charges and scheduled to appear in CAP Court.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.

Man charged after traffic stop in Seneca Falls
Police arrested a Seneca Falls man after a traffic stop led officers to illegal narcotics.
Shawn Standbrook, 40, of Seneca Falls, faces charges following the stop on December 20, according to the Town of Seneca Falls Police Department.
Police said officers learned Standbrook possessed illegal narcotics during the stop. They charged him with criminal possession of a controlled substance in the fourth degree, a Class C felony.
Officers issued Standbrook an appearance ticket instead of holding him in custody. Police said he will return to Seneca Falls Town Court on a future date.
