Located in the heart of Louisville's South End, the facility will be converted into a 25 GWh manufacturing hub, capable of producing 12,000 metric tons annually of Anthro Proteus™, the company's patented advanced polymer electrolyte. This material is vital to the next generation of lithium-ion batteries, enabling enhanced safety, energy density, and compatibility with breakthrough technologies like silicon anodes and high-voltage cathodes.

FRANKFORT, Ky. — Highlighting exciting momentum within the state’s surging manufacturing sector, advanced materials and battery developer Anthro Energy Inc. announced plans to invest $42 million in a new manufacturing facility in Louisville, creating 110 full-time jobs in addition to 390 construction jobs.
The company’s first operation in the commonwealth will focus on safe advanced electrolyte production. Anthro Energy has developed a proprietary injectable phase-change electrolyte (IPCE) trademarked as Anthro Proteus, which can be used in a range of battery products tailored to specific industries, such as consumer, micromobility, defense and automotive. The company anticipates production of over 12,000 metric tons of IPCE per year at the new facility.
