Joe Rogan not okay with UFC ‘travesty’ being committed by Dana White — ‘Come on, stop’

Dana White is not booking Jon Jones for next year’s UFC White House fight card.

That’s because “Bones” has proven to be unreliable over the years, to the point where White once banned Jones from all future headliners (a ban he eventually lifted). In addition, the White House event will air live on CBS and feature dignitaries from around the world, so White and Co. are looking to put their best foot forward.

That could prove to be a tall order without one of the greatest fighters in the history of combat sports.

“If they don’t do Jon Jones at the White House, I think it would be a travesty,” UFC color commentator, Joe Rogan, said on his “Experience” podcast. “Dana’s like, ‘You can’t count on him.’ You can f*cking count on him. Come on, stop.”

Trump shares details about White House UFC event for America's 250th

The UFC event at the White House on June 14 will feature eight or nine championship fights, President Donald Trump told reporters at the Kennedy Center Honors on Dec. 8.

“The biggest fights they’ve ever had,’’ Trump said. “Every one’s a championship fight. And every one’s a legendary type of fight.’’

Trump also said UFC CEO Dana White is holding back fights “right now’’ to save them for the White House. The UFC event will be held there to celebrate America’s 250th anniversary.

An arena being built in front of the White House for the UFC event will have 5,000 to 6,000 seats, according to Trump, who said there will be 100,000 people in the back, where they’re putting up eight or 10 “very big screens.’’

Dana White reveals broadcast plans for UFC White House card

Dana White has big plans for UFC White House, but they don’t involve airing the bulk of the card on network television.

Starting in January, the UFC officially moves from ESPN to Paramount, with the majority of events expected to air on the Paramount+ streaming service. Though the door is open for televised events on CBS, when the UFC heads to the White House in June, a Paramount+ subscription will be required to watch the historic fight card.

“It won’t be on CBS, it’ll be on Paramount+,” White told The Mac Life. “One hundred percent, that fight will be on Paramount+. Maybe we do some prelims on CBS, but that fight will be on Paramount+. … There will be fights on CBS, but we’re on Paramount+.”
