Dillon Danis will not be defending his Misfits MMA title later this month.
Danis was scheduled to defend his light heavyweight title against Anthony Taylor at Misfits Mania on Dec. 20 in Dubai; however, on Friday, Misfits announced Danis has been forced out of the event due to a medical issue stemming from his altercation at UFC 322 last month.
“Unfortunately, Dillon Danis will not be competing at “The Fight Before Christmas” event in Dubai on December 20, 2025.
“Independent physicians have determined that he is not medically cleared to compete at this time due to the melee that occurred at Madison Square Garden last month.

Dillon Danis is out of his first title defense as the Misfits Boxing light heavyweight MMA champion. And he appears to have the team of UFC welterweight champion Islam Makhachev to thank for it.
On Friday, Misfits Boxing announced via social media that Danis has been forced out of his planned title defense against Anthony Taylor at Misfits Mania on Dec. 20 in Dubai. According to the announcement, Danis suffered an injury during his recent brawl at UFC 322 in Madison Square Garden in November.
Danis was caught on video getting into an altercation with members of Makhachev's team, who were sat cageside. As a result, UFC CEO Dana White banned Danis from any future UFC events. New York City Mayor Eric Adams also recently publicly declared that the incident is under investigation by the NYPD. Adams guaranteed that all parties involved will be held accountable, though no punishments have been handed out at this time.
