Sources: Bama RB Miller questionable vs. Georgia
Alabama tailback Jam Miller is facing long odds to play in Saturday's SEC championship game against Georgia, sources told ESPN's Pete Thamel on Friday.
Miller, who has 493 rushing yards on 123 carries this season, is dealing with an apparent lower leg injury suffered in last week's Iron Bowl win over SEC rival Auburn. He was seen after the game leaving Jordan-Hare Stadium on crutches.
While Miller's injury could keep him out of the SEC title game, it is not considered serious and the Crimson Tide's leading rusher is expected back for the College Football Playoff, sources said.
Kevin Riley, Miller's backup, is listed as out for the SEC title game against the Bulldogs. He is second on the team in rushing this season with 222 yards on 56 carries. Expect third-string back Daniel Hill (217 rushing yards) to get the bulk of the carries for the Crimson Tide.

ESPN’s Pete Thamel reported Saturday that there is “optimism” Alabama’s Josh Cuevas will be available for the SEC Championship Game against Georgia.
If the Tide is to beat Georgia for the second time this season, it will do so without running back Jam Miller, who is not expected to play. With Kevin Riley out, Alabama fans should expect to see a heavy dose of Daniel Hill.
As was previously reported, defensive lineman Kelby Collins will miss the game, and LT Overton was also ruled out.
Offensive lineman Kam Dewberry, who was listed as questionable, is also out, per Thamel.

Georgia adds safety to injury report ahead of SEC championship game
ATHENS — Georgia made an addition to the team’s availability report on Thursday, as safety Zion Branch is listed as questionable.
Branch has taken on an elevated role in the Georgia defense after Kyron Jones suffered a foot injury. Jones has already been ruled out for the SEC championship game. He has not played since Georgia’s win over Auburn.
Georgia brought in Branch from the transfer portal this offseason. In 10 games this season, Branch has 22 tackles and a pass breakup. He did not play against Alabama earlier in the season.
If Branch can’t play, even more would fall on the shoulders of JaCorey Thomas.
