2026 three-star QB Tommy Carr flips commitment to Michigan Football

BREAKING: Michigan Football has flipped 2026 three-star QB Tommy Carr’s commitment! He is the brother of Notre Dame QB CJ Carr and the grandson of Lloyd Carr:

The Michigan Wolverines will have an in-state prospect sign in their 2026 class after all, as three-star quarterback Tommy Carr has flipped his commitment from Miami (Ohio), announced on Sunday afternoon.

The 6-foot-3.5, 195-pounder hails from Saline and plays ball at Saline High School. He is the brother of Notre Dame quarterback CJ Carr and the grandson of legendary national championship-winning Michigan head coach Lloyd Carr.

As a senior this season, Carr completed 176-of-254 passes for 2,797 yards, 37 touchdowns and five interceptions. He also ran for 300 yards and eight scores.

Saline QB Tommy Carr switches commitment to Michigan Wolverines

Michigan received a Sunday commitment from Saline senior quarterback Tommy Carr, who was committed to Miami (Ohio) but recently was offered by the Wolverines and took it fairly quickly.

Carr is the grandson of former Michigan head coach Lloyd Carr, who won one national title and five Big Ten titles in Ann Arbor and is in the College Football Hall of Fame. Carr’s father is Jason Carr, who played quarterback at Michigan from 1992 to 1995. Tommy’s brother CJ is the starting quarterback at Notre Dame.

A two-year starter at Saline, Carr is a Mr. Football candidate who led his team to a Division 1 regional final this season, a 42-28 loss to Detroit Cass Tech on Friday night.

Tommy Carr, Saline star QB, flips commitment to Michigan football from Miami (Ohio)

Tommy Carr, the grandson of Michigan football national championship winning coach Lloyd Carr, has flipped his commitment to the Wolverines. He was previously pledged to Miami (Ohio).

Carr is the younger brother of C.J. Carr, who is in his first-year starting QB for Notre Dame and has the Fighting Irish battling for a spot in the College Football Playoff. His father, Jason Carr, also played quarterback for Michigan.

Tommy Carr threw for 2,431 yards and 31 touchdowns with just three interceptions in the regular season for Saline. He also ran for seven touchdowns to lead the Hornets to an 8-1 regular season record and a 10-2 overall finish before they fell to powerhouse Cass Tech, 42-28, in a playoff game on Friday. He had two interceptions.
