Two earthquakes reported across Carolinas
CENTERVILLE, S.C. (FOX Carolina) – The United States Geological Survey (USGS) said two earthquakes were reported in the Carolinas since Saturday.
The USGS said the first quake hit 10.4 miles east of Jefferson, NC near the North Carolina-Virginia state line at 1:35 p.m. on Saturday. It had a magnitude of 2.2 and a depth of four kilometers.
Officials said the second earthquake hit on Sunday night around 11:17 p.m. It was 5.8 miles south southwest of Centerville, South Carolina, head a magnitude of 1,7 and a depth of eight kilometers.
