Jags' Hunter has surgery, out for rest of season
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Jacksonville Jaguars rookie receiver/cornerback Travis Hunter will miss the remainder of the season after undergoing surgery on his right knee Tuesday, the team announced.
Hunter had the lateral collateral ligament repaired in Dallas by Dr. Dan Cooper and Jaguars team physician Dr. Kevin Kaplan. There was no additional damage to the knee, the team announced, and Hunter is expected to return to full football activities within six months.
Hunter was placed on injured reserve on Oct. 31, one day after he suffered a non-contact injury during practice while on defense. The team wanted to confirm the severity of Hunter's injury and how much time he would miss after an initial MRI revealed that Hunter's ACL was intact.
NFL news, injury updates coming out of Week 10: Jaguars star Travis Hunter has season-ending surgery
Week 10 marked a tough week for some of the league's top teams: The Bills fell to the struggling Miami Dolphins as part of an apparent mid-season slump, while the Patriots held off the Buccaneers and the Ravens rallied over the Vikings.
Then on Tuesday, the Jaguars delivered bad news. Two-way rookie star Travis Hunter underwent season-ending surgery to repair the LCL in his right knee. Hunter had been on injured reserve with the injury that he suffered in practice since Oct. 31.
Hunter, the Jaguars and medical staff ultimately decided that the injury required surgery to repair. The Jaguars expect Hunter to be able to return to football activities in six months.

Travis Hunter out for season after LCL surgery
As it turns out, Travis Hunter’s rookie season is over.
Hunter, the Jaguars’ No. 2 overall pick, suffered a non-contact injury during a late October practice. Jacksonville placed him on injured reserve, with reports noting that the organization hoped he would not be out for long. But now, Hunter has undergone surgery to repair his LCL and is slated to fully return to football activities within six months.
That means Hunter — the No. 2 overall pick of this year’s draft — will not play again in 2025.
Jacksonville’s statement notes that the LCL injury was isolated and there was no other damage to Hunter’s knee. He underwent surgery in Dallas, with the procedure performed by team doctor, Kevin Kaplan.
