‘Sinners’ & ‘Hamnet’ Among Camerimage Film Festival Lineup

Ryan Coogler’s Sinners, shot by cinematographer Autumn Durald Arkapaw, is among the official lineup at Poland’s Camerimage Film Festival. 

The festival will take place from November 15 to 22, 2025, in Toruń, Poland. 

Durald Arkapaw is a frequent visitor to Camerimage. She was present at the festival in 2022 with Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, her previous collaboration with Coogler. 

Other titles set to screen include Chloé Zhao’s Hamnet, shot by Polish cinematographer Łukasz Żal, and Mascha Schilinski’s Sound of Falling. Scroll down for the full list of titles. Elsewhere, Cate Blanchett will travel to the festival, where she will receive the event’s Icon Award. Blanchett will be handed the award at the festival’s closing ceremony.

‘Sinners,’ ‘Hamnet,’ ‘F1’ Lead Camerimage Film Festival Lineup

The 33rd EnergaCamerimage Film Festival has unveiled this year’s lineup competition for the Golden Frog, honoring the best in cinematography in film. The festival will take place from Nov. 15 to Nov. 22 in Toruń, Poland.

This year’s lineup will consist of Ryan Coogler’s “Sinners,” starring Michael B. Jordan, Joseph Kosinski’s “F1” starring Brad Pitt and Damson Idris, and James Mangold’s “A Complete Unknown” with Timothée Chalamet and Elle Fanning. The competition will also premiere new releases such as Chloé Zhao’s “Hamnet,” with Jessie Buckley and Paul Mescal, Kathryn Bigelow’s “A House of Dynamite,” and James Vanderbilt’s “Nuremberg.”

Seven films to compete in debut cinematography contest at EnergaCamerimage

Organizers said the section, launched in 2010, spotlights emerging filmmakers and projects that might otherwise struggle to reach wider audiences. This year’s lineup features:

The Polish Filmmakers Association is the patron of the debut competition.

Organizers also named the first three titles for the main competition: Agnieszka Holland’s “Franz Kafka” (Tomasz Naumiuk), Chloé Zhao’s “Hamnet” (Łukasz Żal) and Petra Biondina Volpe’s “Late Shift” (Judith Kaufmann).

Documentary director and producer Liz Garbus will receive the festival’s Award for Outstanding Achievement in Documentary, accompanied by a retrospective. Her recent works include the series “Gone Girls: The Long Island Serial Killer,” “One Night in Idaho” and “Harry & Meghan.” Garbus has earned Oscar nominations for “The Farm: Angola, USA” and “What Happened, Miss Simone?,” with the latter also winning an Emmy. She earlier received an Emmy in 2007 as producer of “Demons of Abu Ghraib,” and has additional Emmy nominations for “Bobby Fischer Against the World,” “The Fourth Estate” and the season-four finale of “The Handmaid’s Tale.”
