Cantwell, AK – A light earthquake measuring magnitude 2.8 was recorded Thursday evening, about 60 kilometers west-northwest of Cantwell, Alaska, according to the Alaska Earthquake Center. The tremor occurred at approximately 11:41 a.m. local time (19:41 UTC) at a depth of 14.4 kilometers.
According to the U.S. Geological Survey and the Alaska Earthquake Center, the event was automatically detected and classified as minor. No damage or injuries have been reported, and no residents have yet submitted “Did You Feel It?” responses.
