NFL trade deadline: Indianapolis Colts trade rumors include Trey Hendrickson, other Bengals players

With the NFL's best record, the Indianapolis Colts (7-1) could be in line to add a piece or two to put them into Super Bowl contention.

Indy's offense has been humming and mostly healthy, so it's unlikely general manager Chris Ballard would fiddle with the league's top-scoring unit.

The Colts' defense could use some tinkering. They added linebacker Germaine Pratt — who played for defensive coordinator Lou Anarumo in Cincinnati — and several others in response to defensive backfield injuries. However, none is considered a difference-maker.

Ballard has made one mid-season trade in his nine-year tenure. In 2022, the Colts sent running back Nyheim Hines to Buffalo for running back Zack Moss.

Indianapolis Colts Must Consider Blockbuster Trade for NFL Sack Leader

Although it feels like the 2025 NFL season just got started, the trade deadline is already only one week away. That means time is ticking for the Indianapolis Colts, who reportedly have interest in trading for an impactful defender before November 4.

The Athletic's Dianni Russini published multiple reports stating that the Colts are interested in trading for a cornerback, but that doesn't mean the team isn't looking for improvement in other areas.

The Colts' front office has pretty much brought in whoever defensive coordinator Lou Anarumo wants, and it seems to be working. That being said, this article focuses on one player who would be a very expensive acquisition: Brian Burns.

Colts Need To Make Trade Deadline Move On Defense

INDIANAPOLIS – The Colts have earned the right to be a buyer.

And they owe it to themselves, and especially a historic looking offense through the first half of the 2025 season, to try and push some chips into the middle of the table.

It’s not often the NFL trade deadline (on Tuesday, November 4th) has presented an opportunity to buy for the Colts.

In the Chris Ballard era, the Colts have not been in such a position through the first two months of the season.

In Ballard’s 8 years as GM, the Colts have had the following records entering November: 2-6, 3-5, 5-2, 4-2, 3-5, 3-4-1, 3-5, 4-4.
