Love outduels Rodgers as Pack tout 'the successor'
Aaron Rodgers reflects on the Steelers' faults and shows love to Jordan Love for an impressive performance. (0:44)
PITTSBURGH — This was vintage Aaron Rodgers. Except it was Jordan Love.
With Rodgers watching in the Steelers' black and gold, Love, the quarterback who replaced him with the Green Bay Packers, showed just how much he learned from his predecessor in a 35-25 victory on Sunday night in Rodgers' new home, Pittsburgh's Acrisure Stadium.
"He's showed he's the successor," Packers defensive end Micah Parsons said. "He's the up-and-coming. Like J-Love, talking about when I was coming here, I was like, 'I know they've got a quarterback, I know I've got a quarterback.' I'm just so proud of him, everything he's been through, how he's developed as a player, how he's developed as a person, and he's just playing some really good football right now."

A historic win. But what went on during Coach LaFleur's postgame? Didn't anyone from the press show up?
As I listened on my computer to Pete Dougherty get practically a one-on-one with the head coach, I really wish I would've been there. I covered this game from back in Green Bay because I couldn't travel Saturday. So it goes.
Was this a statement game? Jordan Love? Tucker Kraft? Christian Watson? Micah Parsons and Rashan Gary? Quay Walker and Edgerrin Cooper? Erased a deficit and dominated the second half. Impressive. The one team Aaron Rodgers hasn't defeated.
I'm not big into statements. The Steelers showed plenty of vulnerability a week ago Thursday. But for two quarters the Packers got back to being the team we know they're capable of being. There's no denying that.

PITTSBURGH — Aaron Rodgers got it right when, in the days leading up to Sunday night’s meeting between his old team, the Green Bay Packers, and his current team, the Pittsburgh Steelers, he said, “This is not a revenge game for me.”
Three years removed from his last season in Packers green and gold, the future Hall of Famer offered no cold shoulders or steely stares toward former teammates and coaches. Three hours before kickoff, Rodgers instead caught up with his old comrades — players with whom he had broken bread countless times, alongside whom he had battled and bled; coaches responsible for positioning him for success; trainers and support staff members who had spent years tending to his battered body.
