Rosalía Taps Björk and Yves Tumor for New Song “Berghain”: Watch the Video

After teasing her first new song in two years with sheet music and a clip of a black-clothed orchestra following her down a street, Rosalía has finally shared “Berghain”—the lead single for her upcoming new album, Lux. The song features Björk and Yves Tumor and comes with a music video directed by Nicolas Méndez in which the orchestra follows Rosalía as she goes about her day. Check it out below.

Lux is out November 7 via Columbia. Rosalía recorded her fourth studio album with the London Symphony Orchestra, as conducted by Daníel Bjarnason, and executive-produced it herself. Lux is split into four movements, and joining Rosalía for select contributions are Björk, Yves Tumor, Portuguese fado singer Carminho, Spanish flamenco artist Estrella Morente, Spanish singer Silvia Pérez Cruz, Washington-based trio Yahritza, and the boys choir Escolania de Montserrat i Cor Cambra Palau de la Música Catalana.

Rosalía Will Explore ‘Transformation’ on New Album ‘Lux’: See the Full Track List

Rosalía is unveiling new details about her album Lux, which drops Nov. 7. On Monday, the Spanish singer officially shared the album cover and track list details of her upcoming project, released via Columbia Records.

Rosalía recorded Lux with the London Symphony Orchestra conducted by Daníel Bjarnason, and executive-produced it. According to a statement, the album “traces a widescreen emotional arc of feminine mystique, transformation, and transcendence — moving between intimacy and operatic scale to create a radiant world where sound, language, and culture fuse as one.”

While it’s unclear which songs will feature guests, the press release confirms that the record will include Björk, Portuguese fado singer Carminho, Spanish flamenco star Estrella Morente, Spanish singer Silvia Pérez Cruz, música mexicana star Yahritza, and experimental musician Yves Tumor. The boys choir Escolania de Montserrat i Cor Cambra Palau de la Música Catalana will also be part of the album.

Rosalía Gets Surreal In ‘Berghain’ Video

Rosalía delivers a stunning first sample from her upcoming Columbia album, LUX, in the form of the Nicolás Méndez-directed, Warsaw-set video for “Berghain,” which features vocals from Björk and Yves Tumor.

In the highly surreal clip, Rosalía is enveloped first by orchestra musicians and then a menagerie of animals as she moves from her apartment to a crowded bus, a jewelry store and a doctor’s office. The track is described by Columbia as “the grand orchestral centerpiece” of the upcoming project’s second movement — “an operatic journey across languages and emotion” that “expands from soft introspection to sweeping cinematic power.”
