NFL Fans Not Happy With Lack Of Patrick Mahomes Punishment
NFL fans are not happy with the ultimate punishment decision for Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes this weekend.
The league hit Detroit Lions defensive back Brian Branch with a one-game suspension for his role in a postgame skirmish at Arrowhead Stadium last Sunday evening. The Chiefs topped the Lions, 30-17, last Sunday night. Following the game, Branch smacked Chiefs wide receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster in the head.
Smith-Schuster had blocked Branch hard earlier in the game. Following the game, Branch snubbed Mahomes in a postgame handshake attempt. Smith-Schuster then got into Branch's face, leading to the altercation.
Branch, who apologized for his actions, will now miss Detroit’s Week 7 matchup against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers after his appeal was denied.
Chiefs Defeat Raiders, 31-0, in First Regular-Season Shutout Since 2011
The Kansas City Chiefs defeated the Las Vegas Raiders, 31-0, in dominant fashion on Sunday afternoon for their fourth victory in their last five games. It was Kansas City's first regular-season shutout since 2011, and the Chiefs' first shutout overall (including the playoffs) since 2015.
"Great win…There are all kinds of good stats to go over. I'm not sure I can cover them all," said Head Coach Andy Reid. There are a lot of people that played really well. I'm proud of them for that. Coming off of an emotional win against the Lions, and then coming into this thing and playing with the energy that we played with [was big]."

Lions furious at NFL Films for now-deleted Brian Branch low-lights video
He was routinely in the spotlight on "Sunday Night Football" in Week 6, but for all the wrong reasons. The Detroit Lions safety is now set to serve a one-game suspension for striking the Kansas City Chiefs' JuJu Smith-Schuster following last week's game.
NFL Films added some more fuel to the fire in the days that followed. They posted a promotional video for their show, “Turning Point,” which singled out Branch’s mistakes against the Chiefs. Narrated by ESPN's Louis Riddick, the video seemingly implied that there was some in-game motivation for the safety's actions in the aftermath.
It's not common for NFL Films to frame a video in that way – highlighting one player's lowlights. The NFL deleted the post and later released a statement on X, explaining their decision to remove the clip.
