10/11 Preview – North Of The Border + Moore's Shorthanded Magic, Byfield's Flying, Malott's Return

TODAY’S MATCHUP: The Kings hit the road for a two-game trip, beginning this afternoon in Winnipeg as they take on the Jets for the first time this season.

HEAD-TO-HEAD: Forward Adrian Kempe led the Kings last season against the Jets as he collected six points (3-3-6) from three games played. Overall, Kempe ranked second in the NHL in scoring versus Winnipeg and he scored the game-winning goal in overtime during the only game played between the two teams at Canada Life Centre, a 2-1 Kings victory in January.

KINGS VITALS: Based on yesterday’s practice, all indications would be towards the same lineup as we saw in Vegas, minus a likely change in net.

Projected Lineups: Kings at Jets, Game 3 Storylines and How to Watch

Following a thrilling overtime win in Vegas on Wednesday night, the Kings will look to ride that emotional high as they get set to once again square off with a Western Conference powerhouse in Winnipeg.

It’s been two games of ups and downs thus far for Los Angeles. And head coach Jim Hiller has to be impressed with his team’s resilience and competitiveness, as LA has shown signs of being a very good team this season. However, there have also been several areas to clean up early on — such as the defense and game management. In both contests this past week, the Kings have not been able to keep up with their opponents for a full 60 minutes, despite them coming back to beat the Golden Knights in a shootout.
