Motorcyclist killed after high-speed crash in Nashville, police say
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) – The Metro Nashville Police Department is investigating a deadly motorcycle crash from Thursday night.
Police said 31-year-old Elliot Carter, of Nashville, died after crashing in the area of Trinity Lane near Scruggs Lane at about 9 p.m.
Preliminary investigation shows that the driver of a Mazda MZ3 entered the left turn lane and, as he was turning into a parking lot, was struck in the passenger side by the motorcycle.

Carter was taken to a local hospital, where he later died.
Before the crash, an officer spotted Carter’s motorcycle passing at a high rate of speed. Moments later, the officer drove up to the crash site.

In a 4:24 p.m. update, BNA advised departing traffic to use Donelson Pike to ease gridlock and encouraged travelers to allow extra time.
On Oct. 7, staffing issues with air traffic controllers led to flight delays averaging about two hours, affecting more than 39,000 passengers. A ground delay was issued for all departures lasting from 6:32 p.m. until midnight.
In mid-September, heavy traffic outside the airport, coupled with a major convention and ongoing roadwork on Donelson Pike, left travelers stranded and some missing flights.
