First Alert Forecast: Rain and cooler weather coming to Middle Tennessee

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) – We’ll need to keep the umbrella handy today in Middle Tennessee with a few showers expected this morning and into the afternoon.

Rain will mostly be light and cloud cover will linger otherwise across the Midstate. Highs today will top off in the upper 70s to low 80s. More widespread rain will develop late tonight and into our day tomorrow.

AFTERNOON – Hit and miss showers. Mostly cloudy. Highs upper 70s to low 80s

EVENING – A few showers and storms. Rain tapers off late. Lows in the 60s

Most of the Midstate should end up with 1-2″ of rain, but some isolated spots could see around 3″

Refreshing temperatures following a cold front

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -An isolated shower or two is possible through sunrise with very foggy conditions. Winds will turn NE 5-15 mph.

WEDNESDAY: Clouds will linger through the afternoon with highs in the upper 60s on the Plateau to mid 70s in the valley. A passing downpour is possible at any point, but mainly dry. Still muggy at this point, but as winds pick up more refreshing temps will work in tonight as lows drop into the low to mid 50s.

LATE WEEK: Dry and cooler with highs in the low 70s and lows in the 40s to low 50s. Clouds will mix with sun Thursday and it will be mostly sunny Friday.

Work week weather: Storms early in week before cooler, sunny weather

Clarksville forecast: Showers and thunderstorms will start the week before giving way to a stretch of clear, cooler fall weather by midweek.

CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – Showers and thunderstorms will start the week in Clarksville before giving way to a stretch of clear, cooler fall weather by midweek. Temperatures will stay in the upper 70s to low 80s early on, then drop into the 70s for highs and 50s for lows once the rain moves out.

According to the National Weather Service, scattered storms are likely Monday and Tuesday, with the heaviest rainfall expected Monday night into Tuesday morning. By Wednesday, skies will clear and cooler, drier air will settle in across Middle Tennessee.
