FresnoHOP Trolley offering free round-trips to the Big Fresno Fair

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) — The Big Fresno Fair is back and this year families can experience it in a new, low-stress way.

The FresnoHOP Trolley is out at the fair offering free, convenient and family-friendly transportation.

The service connects neighborhoods from across the city directly to the fairgrounds, so you don't have to worry about the traffic, paying for parking or any other extra costs.

Service runs this weekend and next weekend with departures every 30 to 40 minutes.

Rodeo returns to Big Fresno Fair, replacing horse racing

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) — For the first time in 30 years, the roar of bulls and the cheers of rodeo fans are echoing through the Big Fresno Fairgrounds.

The fair has long been known for its live horse racing, a tradition that spanned more than 120 years. But with state regulators canceling race dates in Northern California, fair organizers are bringing back the rodeo.

"It is historical," said Taylor Collins, special event coordinator for the fair. "We're trying to honor the facilities we have here. We love our traditional horse races, but now we're creating this rodeo to honor that heritage as well."

Big Fresno Fair continues on despite wet and rainy conditions

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) — Day two of the Big Fresno Fair brought rain to the fairgrounds.

"A little bit of rain is not a big problem. A whole lot better than 105 degrees last year," German Amezcua with the Big Fresno Fair said.

The wet and windy weather didn't deter crowds from enjoying all the fair has to offer.

Attendees hopped on rides as vendors covered their bases. They also covered their registers to keep the rain from impacting their sales.

The fair is reminding visitors of indoor options, including museums, exhibits and art galleries.

"There are so many different buildings that you can be indoors and you can enjoy, so there are a lot of things to do where you don't have to be outside," Amezcua said.
