Saddle up for Country Calling in Ocean City and get ready for grand 150th anniversary gala
The shoulder season at area beaches is continuing unabated, with lots of music-oriented events at bars, restaurants and concert venues. But for the second week in a row, the Ocean City Inlet will see tens of thousands of people gathering outside in one spot for a mega-festival starring many famous names.
Last week’s third annual Oceans Calling fest drew an estimated 55,000 music fans per day to watch famous rock, pop and R&B acts. Its massive stage and lighting rigs remained up and ready to host its sister event, Country Calling, which takes place Friday through Sunday, Oct. 3-5.

As the sun dipped low over the Atlantic on September 26, the Ocean City Boardwalk pulsed with anticipation, transforming into a sprawling canvas of sound and salt air for the third annual Oceans Calling Festival. Over 162,000 attendees flooded the shores of this Maryland gem, drawn by a lineup that bridged ’90s nostalgia and modern anthems across three stages: Sea Bright, Rockville, and Carousel. The air hummed with the salty tang of funnel cakes and the distant crash of waves, while vendors hawked crab-themed merch amid throngs of tie-dye shirts and cowboy boots.
