Knicks’ key 6-foot-4 wing suffers scary injury in first preseason outing vs. 76ers originally appeared on The Sporting News
The New York Knicks and Philadelphia 76ers kicked off the 2025 NBA preseason on Thursday in Abu Dhabi, but the former franchise might be down a key player after their exhibition contest concludes.
With 10:29 remaining in the second quarter, Knicks forward Josh Hart fell in a heap towards the sideline after coming down with a rebound and pushing the pace. Hart then stayed down for a considerable amount of time before limping back to the locker room.
Hart was met with very little contact before suffering the injury, leading many to believe that it may have been a back issue.

Preseason injuries are the last thing any NBA team wants to deal with, but Knicks guard/forward Josh Hart appeared to suffer an injury during the first half of Thursday's exhibition match against the Philadelphia 76ers in Abu Dhabi.
After grabbing a defensive rebound, Hart took a couple of dribbles before falling to the floor. There wasn't much, if any, contact on the play, and Hart stayed down for a few moments before getting helped towards the locker room.
The Knicks have not given any update on Hart's injury status.
Hart was also ejected on the play, as he threw the ball in frustration after the whistle blew.

New York Knicks' Josh Hart Injured and Ejected in Abu Dhabi Game
The New York Knicks' regulars all partook in the first half of their exhibition opener against the Philadelphia 76ers—including one unwelcome returnee.
The injury bug followed the Knicks overseas to Abu Dhabi, as Josh Hart left the preseason showcase with an apparent lower body injury. Hart left the game in the early stages of the second quarter while chasing a rebound after a Johni Broome miss. He secured the rebound but fell without contact, allowing Kennedy Chandler to come by and force a jumpball.
Even if Hart has emerged without major injury, he will not return to the game, as he was charged with a technical foul and immediately ejected for throwing the ball in frustration after he was forced to the ground, adding insult to literal injury.
