Davante Adams has been one of the NFL's best wide receivers for more than a decade while playing for various teams. Does his latest stellar play for the Los Angeles Rams further put him on the fast track to the Pro Football Hall of Fame?

The answer is a yes, despite him not being the No. 1 option on his team for the first time. Adams has far exceeded expectations as a second-round pick in the 2014 draft and continues to produce with yet a different QB for three consecutive seasons.

Rams $44M Move Labeled as ‘Best Free-Agent Pickup’ of the Offseason

The Los Angeles Rams took a major swing this offseason, signing All-Pro wide receiver Davante Adams to a two-year, $44 million deal.

So far, it’s paying off in a big way. According to The Athletic, Adams has been named the “Best Free-Agent Pickup” of the season, and the numbers, along with his impact on teammates, make it easy to see why.

“You could say Aaron Rodgers in Pittsburgh, or even Jonathan Jones in Indianapolis. But Adams is making a big time impact in L.A. for a variety of reasons,” The Athletic wrote.

Through the early stretch of the season, the 32-year-old receiver has given veteran quarterback Matthew Stafford another dynamic option in the passing game. Adams currently boasts a career-best 15.8 yards per catch, showcasing that he’s still among the league’s most efficient and explosive playmakers.

Davante Adams is playing in his 12th NFL season and is still producing at an impressive level for a 32-year-old. However, he is now on his third team in just two seasons and is finding the end zone for the Los Angeles Rams instead of the New York Jets in 2025.

As he and the Rams get ready to take on San Francisco on Thursday Night Football, let’s revisit when and why he signed with Los Angeles.

Adams was selected in the second round of the 2014 NFL Draft by the Green Bay Packers and averaged nearly 700 receiving yards and six touchdowns per season on his rookie deal. Over the next eight seasons, he recorded seven 1,000+ yard campaigns, including four with 1,300+ receiving yards.
