NFL insider hints at severe tension between Houston Texans, C.J. Stroud

NFL insider hints at severe tension between Houston Texans, C.J. Stroud originally appeared on The Sporting News

The Houston Texans are off to a rough 0-3 start, and their offense is one of the worst in the NFL through three weeks.

Per Next Gen Stats, the Texans are tied for the fewest touchdowns in the NFL with three, and they are averaging the fourth-fewest yards per game. On top of that, C.J. Stroud has been horrendous. A lot of that can be attributed to the offensive line, but he's also in charger of calling out the protections for the first time in his career- a role that seems to be a bit too much for the Ohio State product. Amidst all of the early-season struggles, Dianna Russini of The Athletic revealed that something big could be dropping soon about Houston.

'We want to win games': Why being close in one-score games isn't enough for 0-3 Texans

HOUSTON — C.J. Stroud said the quiet part out loud when the quarterback of the winless Houston Texans said being close wasn't good enough following their Week 3 loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars.

"We're really close. That's the problem," Stroud said. "We just keep reiterating that we're close, and now it's time to fix the issues and be honest with one another."

The Texans fell to 0-3 after a 17-10 loss Sunday on an afternoon when the offense struggled throughout and the defense allowed another game-winning drive, a theme for the season. The offense failed to eclipse 300 total yards, went 4-for-15 on third downs and had three turnovers.

Value of Things: Knives out edition

The blame game has started between DeMeco Ryans and Nick Caserio

The Houston Texans have been here before. To be perfectly fair, they have been here three other times before in their history. When things start to go sideways as they have this season there are stages that the team goes through. Obviously, these are similar to the stages of suck I introduced earlier this week. Those stages are more for fans and analysts on the outside. Teams like the Baltimore Ravens and Pittsburgh Steelers seem to be immune to sucking, but almost every other organization has gone through this. Before we look at the current situation we should review the history.
