Giants elevate McAtamney to kick vs. Chargers
The New York Giants have a new kicker. And it's not the veteran Younghoe Koo they signed earlier this week to the practice squad.
Jude McAtamney will kick for the Giants on Sunday against the Los Angeles Chargers. He was elevated from the practice squad Saturday after beating out Koo in a kicking competition this week.
Veteran kicker Graham Gano lands on injured reserve with a groin injury suffered in pregame warmups last week.
The Giants (0-3) were without a placekicker for most of last Sunday's 22-9 loss to the Chiefs after Gano got hurt moments before the game. Punter Jamie Gillan missed an extra point in the first half before Gano made a short field goal through pain late in the contest.

NFL: McAtamney to play for New York Giants against Los Angeles Chargers
Jude McAtamney landed both his kicks on his competitive NFL debut for the New York Giants against Washington Commanders last year
Jude McAtamney will start for the New York Giants in their NFL game against the Los Angeles Chargers at the MetLife Stadium in New Jersey on Sunday after being activated from the practice squad.
McAtamney missed out on the 53-man active roster with the Giants after being waived at the start of the season.
The former Derry gaelic footballer handled all kicking duties in pre-season victories over the New York Jets and New England Patriots, kicking 10 extra points and a field goal between both games, while playing in the second half of the pre-season opener against the Buffalo Bills.
