Karen Read intends to sue State Police, investigators, civil witnesses from her murder trials, attorney says
Lawyers for Karen Read said she intends to sue the State Police, several investigators, and civilian witnesses who testified against her during two criminal trials in the death of her boyfriend, Boston Police Officer John OâKeefe.
Read was acquitted in June of the most serious charges she faced in OâKeefeâs death, including murder and manslaughter. She was in Plymouth Superior Court Monday for a hearing in the wrongful death lawsuit brought by OâKeefeâs family.
During the hearing, Read attorney Damon Seligson announced his clientâs intention to sue multiple parties who were involved in the investigation of OâKeefeâs death as well as civilian witnesses who were with Read and OâKeefe the night he died in January 2022.
