Power outage impacts Virginia/NC residents Tuesday morning
NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — Dominion Energy crews were busy all day Tuesday working to restore power outages as heavy rain and wind moved across Hampton Roads and northeastern North Carolina.
At the height of high tide Tuesday evening, around 5:30 p.m., the power company reported neraly 30,000 outages in southeastern Virginia, with the majority of those outages, about 26,000, in Virginia Beach.
Many of those outages are concentrated along Shore Drive between Joint Expeditionary Base Little Creek-Fort Story into the Bayside and Thoroughgood areas of the city, along with the Shore Drive area around First Landing State Park, Fort Story and areas along North Great Neck Road stretching toward Atlantic Avenue.
