Couture review – Angelina Jolie is the wrong fit for inert fashion drama
Toronto film festival: the Oscar winner is adrift in Alice Winocourâs uninvolving film about three thinly written women involved in a Paris fashion week show
The otherworldly beauty and consuming, tattoo-strewn look of Angelina Jolie hasnât always allowed for a great deal of versatility as an actor, a difficult face to seamlessly slot into most stories. The star hasnât seemed to be all that interested in acting for a while anyway (since 2012, she has physically appeared on screen just seven times) and has preferred to spend time behind the camera and focusing on both her family and her philanthropic pursuits. Her films as a director have been of both genuinely noble intention and minimal cinematic value (her last effort, Without Blood, premiered at last yearâs Toronto film festival but still doesnât have US distribution) and as she enters her 50s, it seems like sheâs rediscovered her passion for acting again.
Angelina Jolie Recreates Leg-Baring Oscars Pose 13 Years Later
Angelina Jolie showed some leg at the 2025 Toronto International Film Festival, bringing to mind an iconic, viral look she showcased on the 2012 Oscars red carpet.
Now, more than 13 years later, Angelina Jolie has recreated the now-iconic, thigh baring style that she displayed on the 2012 Oscars red carpet.
The 50-year-old showcased her latest leggy look at the premiere of her new film Couture at the 2025 Toronto International Film Festival Sept. 7. Angelina walked the red carpet wearing a full-length, chocolate silk, double-breasted Gabriela Hearst coat, paired with black, pointed patent leather pumps.
And her latest look should come as no surprise, considering Angelina’s fashion statements have always turned heads.
